In the production process of Rail Transit Casting, implementing effective non-destructive testing is a key step to ensure the absence of defects inside the castings and improve product quality. Non destructive testing can detect internal defects such as cracks, pores, inclusions, etc. without damaging the casting.
We adopt a strategy of combining multiple non-destructive testing methods to ensure the comprehensiveness and accuracy of the testing. Firstly, using ultrasonic testing (UT) technology, defects inside the casting are detected through the propagation and reflection characteristics of ultrasonic waves inside the casting. Ultrasonic testing is particularly sensitive to crack defects and can accurately determine their location, size, and shape.
Secondly, we will also use radiographic testing (RT) or X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD) techniques to conduct transmission testing on the castings to discover density changes and defects inside. Radiographic testing can visually display the internal defects of castings and is suitable for detecting thicker castings or complex structures.
In addition, we will also choose other non-destructive testing methods such as magnetic particle testing (MT) and penetrant testing (PT) based on the specific situation and requirements of the castings, in order to further improve the comprehensiveness and accuracy of the testing. The comprehensive application of these non-destructive testing methods can effectively ensure the internal quality of Rail Transit Casting and provide strong guarantees for the safe and stable operation of the rail transit system.
